If you have been trying to lose weight and have not had much success, you might want to consider obtaining help from a professional that has completed hypnotherapy courses that are specifically designed to train them in hypnotherapy weight loss techniques. The reality is that there are thousands of people that have been unsuccessful with losing weight through traditional methods. With the help of someone with the proper hypnotherapy training, however, you can finally shed those extra pounds and lead a happier and healthier life!

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that is conducted with the help of hypnosis, which is a naturally occurring state of mind that everyone has experienced at one time or another. When you watch a television program and “space out” to the point that you are unaware of what others are saying around you, you are in a form of hypnotic trance. By purposely putting the mind in a hypnotic trance and establishing what is referred to as “selective thinking,” it is possible to encourage the mind to reject limiting beliefs that stand between you and your weight loss goals.

How Does Hypnotherapy Weight Loss Work?

When it comes to helping you lose weight with hypnotherapy, London therapists as well as therapists in other parts of the country and the world help address the cause of the weight problem. There are many different factors that can contribute to the weight loss problem. Some of these include:

•	Quality of a person’s diet
•	Family upbringing and training
•	Effects of a person’s mood and emotions
•	Habit
•	Having a sensitivity to certain types of foods
•	Lack of knowledge about foods
•	Low levels of exercise
•	Having a genetic predisposition

Hypnotherapy weight loss programs address all of these issues in order to help you lose weight and keep it off over time. In essence, the hypnotherapy specialist strives to remove your mind’s programming that causes you to eat out of habit, emotion or training. In addition, hypnotherapy can help you increase your exercise levels and can even help you gain control of your eating habits by teaching you self-hypnosis. With the help of your personal hypnotherapy training, you can more effectively reinforce what the hypnotherapy weight loss professional has accomplished.

Why Should I Use Hypnotherapy to Help with Weight Loss?

There are many benefits to using hypnotherapy to assist you with weight loss. First, thousands of people have found success with hypnotherapy and are able to lose weight without experiencing the level of suffering that is often associated with dieting. Second, hypnotherapy is not invasive or potentially harmful to your health, which is not the case with weight loss surgical procedures. Finally, hypnotherapy also creates a long term life change, which means you will be able to beat your weight problems and maintain the results throughout your lifetime.

By: Ralph King

About the Author:

Breaking the cycle of insomnia is not easy as many have discovered. One of the most complicated issues with the lack of sleep is uncovering what the true problem is. There are a number of reasons that keep a person tossing and turning all night, leaving them dragging the next day. Some turn to prescription drugs or other aids to help them fall asleep, but that can be harmful to their health. Pills are addictive, not to mention the expense involved. There is a better way to get full nights sleep and it involves a combination of conflict resolution and relaxation. Read on to discover the secret to sleep.

The brain must go through a processing change in order for an individual to fall asleep. During the day when our mind is busy functioning the brain waves are referred to as BETA waves. The brain is fully aware, able to process and is quickly processing everything around the individual. A person can only fall asleep when the brain waves change to what is known as ALPHA waves. This is where the brain is in a dreamy state and reduces the amount of processing and awareness. This allows the body to relax and then enter into a sleep state. The problem comes when the brain continues the alert stage and does not enter into a decreased or slowed status. This is why when a person has trouble sleeping they begin to process the day’s events, problems as well as conflicts over and over again. This prevents the body from relaxing, creates frustration and further increases the stress that the individual feels. It is then very difficult to fall asleep and becomes a vicious cycle.

Since there are differing levels of consciousness in the human brain it is important that the individual understand how each level can affect them and their sleep habits. The unconscious mind stores all the events from the day and most oftenly years past. Eventually like anything else it will eventually reach capacity and overflow into the conscious mind. This is when the individual begins to experience problems, and frequently sleep disorders. This is because the body is unable to slow down, relax and enter into a peaceful sleep. It then becomes a vicious cycle because the individual begins tensing up and fearing bed time because they know that they will lay there for hours. It can continue this vicious cycle until that unconscious mind is relieved and the person is able to relax it will continue.

Hypnotherapy works very well for sleep disorders and even teaching individuals how to relax their entire body. This relaxed state can help the person focus and fall asleep without even realizing it. During the hypnotherapy session the hypnotherapist will likely teach the person to self hypnotize in order to assist with sleep. In those cases where the individual has great deals of stress, depression or other disorders the process of hypnotherapy will alleviate the poor sleeping habits. Hypnotherapy is used by hundreds of thousands per year to resolve sleep disorders very successfully. There are no side effects, or negatives associated with hypnotherapy and it has been endorsed by the American Medical Association as a leading treatment for sleep disorders as well as many others.

By: Yoshie Chihara-want

About the Author:

You will find millions of products on the market that claim they can help you stop smoking. While many of these things have worked for some, others feel like they have tried everything and still can’t quit. The answer is to stop smoking with hypnosis. Hypnosis can be a highly effective way to quit smoking. According to Science Magazine hypnosis is the most effective way to quit smoking or chewing tobacco. Some studies have shown that the success rate is as high as 66%.

How does hypnosis work? Hypnosis works by affecting the subconscious mind. Your conscious mind tries to tell not to smoke, but in your subconscious you constantly feel the need to smoke.

The reason your subconscious does this is because it is so used to your smoking. It’s your subconscious that tells you to get up every morning for work and that tells you to eat, to breath, and sleep. If smoking has become such an important part of your life, then your subconscious begins to incorporate smoking into your daily functions and habits in life.

Hypnosis can help. Hypnosis allows your subconscious mind to be in a relaxed state and then it is open to suggestion. This allows your mind to become more receptive of certain instructions given by a certified hypnotherapist.

Here are some ways that hypnosis can help you to stop smoking. Hypnosis helps you build motivation and self-confidence. You will begin to have a strong desire to stop smoking. Hypnosis helps to reprogram your mind with healthier choices.

Think of the money you will save from not buying cigarettes, the energy and health you will feel, the sense of great accomplishment you will have, and most importantly the years you will add to your life when you quit.

By: J Barfuss

About the Author:

Stopping smoking in the UK is being encouraged not only by education and the effects of smoking but also by legislation and the restriction on where smokers can smoke.

For years UK health bodies have attempted to persuade people to quit smoking by showing them images of smokers who have suffered with some of the most debilitating diseases connected to this life-threatening habit. Of course the government of the day has supported the advice to quit but at the same time collected 85% or more in taxes of the price of a packet of cigarettes. Taxing alcohol and tobacco use has always been a useful source of income to any government.

Today, though, and some would say, finally, the government has made it more difficult, or awkward to indulge in smoking. Smoking cigarettes, pipes and roll ups, and in fact any form of smoking tobacco has now been banned from public places.

Workers in factories and offices now have to step outside of their work building in order to have that cigarette. People who socialise in public houses or bars now also have to step outside of the building to smoke. Many pubs have constructed designated areas for smokers. These areas are not allowed to be enclosed, so some pub chains have covered area that may have walls on two sides to give some protection to smokers from adverse weather.

All of these measures, the horrific images of organs that have succumbed to smoking poisons, the videos of smokers who are still alive but whose quality of life is impaired, the dire warnings on each packet of cigarettes and the restrictions on where you can smoke are working. They are working from the point of view that more and more smokers are deciding to become ex-smokers.

The only question for many smokers is not “if” they want to stop it is “how” will they stop smoking. Most smokers will during their time as a smoker have had a number of attempts to quit smoking. Most will have tried will-power or cold turkey where they use no other form of support to quit with. Others who have failed at quitting a number of times will try patches, gum, lozenges and zyban. They may still fail.

More often than not it is the failed quitters who seek one-to-one help to finally stop smoking permanently. Hypnotherapy is proving to be the quit smoking method of choice for many people.

A quit smoking hypnotherapist knows how to help smokers change their perceptions about what smoking is and what it isn’t. This change of perception combined with suggestions in the form of hypnosis help support a change of mind. Often people who have struggled to quit before find it so easy to quit with hypnotherapy.

The success of hypnotherapy as a quit smoking method has led to the spread of hypnotherapy practices throughout the UK. Quit smoking hypnotherapists can now be found from Ipswich to London, Manchester to Birmingham. Wales and Scotland particularly have access to hypnotherapy smoking cessation services.

Some hypnotherapists focus solely on helping smokers to quit. Many hypnotherapists offer a range of help with other issues that may be connected to the reason for smoking such as stress, anxiety, relationships, alcohol intake, coping skills, low confidence and old habits that have yet to be dropped.

With so many hypnotherapists available in all counties of England, Wales and Scotland anyone in Suffolk, Essex and Surrey can find help. Large cities such as Birmingham, London, Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff whose lifestyles have been encouraged a tendency to smoke have some of the most successful practices offering stop smoking hypnotherapy.

By: Steven Harold

About the Author:

If you are looking for stop smoking hypnotherapy, UK therapists have much to offer. In most counties, there are clinics or private practitioners. Self-help books and audio tapes are available throughout the world. Recent studies suggest that hypnosis is an effective approach for people who need to change their behavior. Smoking cessation, weight loss and compulsive behaviors are just some of the areas in which hypnosis may be helpful.

Contrary to what some people believe, hypnotherapy is not just another scam. It is an area of complementary and alternative medicine that has received a lot of attention. It is classified as a form of “behavioral therapy”.

Hypnosis is not a form of mind control or brain washing. Therapists place patients in a hypnotic state, which is simply a very relaxed condition, during which the subconscious and the conscious mind is particularly susceptible to the power of suggestion. When it comes to stop smoking hypnotherapy, UK practitioners should be well-trained in all aspects of hypnotherapy and most are, but always check credentials and, as with any option, discuss this form of treatment with a doctor who is familiar with your unique health requirements.

Remember that the therapist has no real power. He or she is simply reinforcing your own desire to quit. In order for hypnosis or any form of therapy to effectively help you quit smoking, you must have that desire to quit. A therapist cannot “force” you to change your behavior.

As a first step to stop smoking hypnotherapy, UK practitioners and those around the world will typically ask a smoker to list his or her reasons for wanting to quit. What is your motivation? Health, finances and relationships are common answers, but there are many others.

Recently, there was another motivation for some people to seek stop smoking hypnotherapy. UK hospitals in the National Health Service system were required to be “smoke-free” by the end of 2006. Most hospitals and many businesses throughout the world are leaning towards a smoke-free environment. So, keeping one’s job has become a new motivation that is often heard.

There are many stop smoking aids (pills, patches, gums, etc.) available in the UK and elsewhere that address the issue of nicotine addiction. But, nicotine addiction is only one of the problems that smokers face. Behavioral changes are necessary for smokers to quit and stay quit. This is where hypnotism comes in.

The National Library of Medicine lists over 200 separate studies concerning the effectiveness of hypnosis in smoking cessation. In the last two years, there were no stop smoking hypnotherapy UK studies, but a write up in the British Journal of Nursing does mention the importance of behavioral therapies for those who want to quit. Pills and patches do not work for everyone.

Hypnotism may not work for everyone either, but several studies have reported success rates greater than 40%. The most recent was in Texas in the United States and results were published in the International Journal of Experimental Hypnosis. Particularly for those who cannot or should not use drugs or nicotine replacement (such as pregnant or nursing women, people who are allergic to ingredients in the drugs or the patches, and those with other health conditions that contraindicate the use of drugs or nicotine replacement), hypnosis is an excellent option, since there are no known side effects. In addition, therapists usually offer counseling sessions, which alone can be as effective as some of the leading drugs.

Self-help books typically offer additional advice and counseling for quitters. Everything from short booklets to complete programs including audio types for self-relaxation and hypnosis are available for those who prefer their privacy.

Before you renew your search for stop smoking hypnotherapy UK practitioners, you may be interested in learning about all of your options. A group of ex-smokers, including myself, has accumulated a number of resources for those who want to quit. Please visit the Stop Smoking Blog to learn more about why and how people quit and why everyone should quit.

By: Patsy Hamilton

About the Author:

Hypnosis or hypnotherapy can be used as a positive method to stop smoking. Everyone has been talking about this method as the main instrument to get smokers to stop their habit. Anyone who has quit smoking, or is in the process of quitting, will tell you that it can become rather difficult to do so. However, with the help of hypnotic programs to stop smoking, the process can become a bit easier.

There are many programs available to stop smoking using hypnosis. One so called course “10 Steps to Non-smoking” is a good example. This program contains crafty and effective psychological approaches that can help you overcome your nicotine cravings.

A number of therapists are also available for sessions on quitting smoking. A consultation with a certified hypnotherapist will mostly delve into some information on your reasons for quitting smoking. These sessions generally include hypnosis therapy techniques as well as suggestions and positive affirmations. You may also come away with a CD that may be used to reinforce the suggestions made during that session.

You may also opt to try self-hypnosis to stop smoking. This method involves relaxing yourself and guiding yourself through mental images that can make you quit smoking faster. One downside to this program is that it requires a lot of time and practice.

A combination of self hypnosis and sessions with a hypnotherapist may also be used. You can use a recorded hypnosis program produced by professionals at your own home. This is relatively less expensive compared to visiting a certified hypnotherapist; this also provides a range of flexibility to your efforts to stop smoking through hypnosis.

Before going into any of these sessions, you may ask yourself – Does stopping smoking through hypnosis really work? Yes it does. Numerous studies have shown that the use of hypnotic therapy to stop smoking works with a success rate of up to 66%. Although hypnosis is not for everyone, it can greatly help in alleviating stress which is one of the main factors reported by smokers as a their reason for smoking.

Hypnotic therapy for stopping smoking provides benefits such as (a) reduced stress, (b) learning techniques to reduce stress, and (c) causing a positive change in the individual’s attitude towards smoking thereby contributing to the elimination of the smoking habit.

With the positive effects of hypnosis for quitting smoking, you should go and give it a try. If you find that hypnosis does not work for you, you can at least get the benefit of reducing your stress levels and giving yourself the opportunity and the time to relax.

By: Dane Bergen

About the Author:

Hypnotherapy Counselling is counselling applied within the medium of hypnosis. It falls under the umbrella category of “talking therapies”. In October 2007, the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) said of talking therapies that they are “just as effective as drugs” in dealing with such things as stress and depression (but with the advantage of no chemically induced side-effects).

People require Hypnotherapy Counselling for a whole range of reasons: bereavement, depression, becoming a parent, sleep problems, panic attacks, confidence building, stress, or perhaps even simply to understand themselves better.

As with counselling, Hypnotherapy Counselling involves talking and listening, but, because throughout the majority of the process, the client is in a state of hypnosis (the state of focussed awareness in which the critical faculties of the mind are temporarily suspended), the insights gained into a person’s situation often lead to rapid and enduringly effective problem resolution with little inner resistance and maximum commitment to change.

Hypnotherapy Counselling aims to discover and address the root cause of a person’s problem and to identify and develop the inner resources needed to overcome that problem. Hypnotherapeutic techniques such as deep relaxation, direct positive suggestion, post hypnotic suggestion, regression, future-pacing, creative visual imagery and pseudo-orientation in time are employed to alter automatic physical and emotional responses, to change maladaptive behaviours and negative patterns of thought, and to provide support during the change process, minimising unconscious resistance, developing commitment, drive and focus, building self-confidence and boosting self-esteem along the way.

Hypnotherapy Counselling is not a magic solution, and is very much client-centred, moving at a pace that’s right for the individual, but positive results tend to become evident very quickly.

By: Christine Woolfenden

About the Author:

There are some things to understand here. Anxiety panic attack is not a disease. It does not need the conventional drug therapy treatment. Many people feel that pills are the answer to everything. They are not! Nature has endowed us with so many natural cure that we simply cannot count. Moreover the advantages of these natural treatments are manifold. They are safe, side effect free, effective, available and very gentle.

I know many people will scoff at the idea and say that the drugs are the only cure. Well let me tell you what these so called drugs do. First, they solve the part of the problem that you can see at the surface, they do not get to the root cause of the problem. Secondly, they increase a person’s dependence and the moment you stop taking the drugs, your attacks worsen. Last but not the least, these medicines need to be increased in dosage as you develop tolerance to it (which only causes further complications).

Hence my advice to you is do not go in for such drugs. There are a great number of natural ways to get rid of these anxiety panic attacks and most of them have worked for me.

Try some deep breathing exercises. My doctor told me to breathe deeply during the anxiety panic attacks. This method helps in relieving hyperventilation and tightness in the chest. Since breath is called life, it will also put a lot of things into perspective while you breathe. While you are working on your breathing this is a good time to give meditation a try. For me meditation was more prevention than cure. There are a variety of techniques to try, but what worked for me was the recitation technique. Meditation and its techniques have been quite effective in providing me relief while the attacks happened.

There are a number of herbs that can help solve your problem. However, there is a method that can completely cure these panic attacks. For me, that is the only method that has all the qualities to be called the “perfect cure”. That method is nothing but hypnosis. I used to scoff at hypnotherapy, but now I have realized that hypnotherapy is the most effective way to deal with these attacks.

My hypnotherapist told me that all our reactions are based on our subconscious mind. Hence hypnotherapy has the power to change your core and emotional beliefs.

By: Michelle Tason

About the Author:

Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder seen often in our hypnotherapy practice here in the UK. In fact, about 5% of the adult population will suffer from an agoraphobia disorder at some time in their lives. In the UK, it is the one phobia that is regularly treated as a medical issue.

As anyone who has ever experienced agoraphobia anxiety or a similar anxiety disorder is only too well aware, it is a condition that has the ability to produce intense and often incapacitating feelings of fear and panic.

Until fairly recently, agoraphobia was defined simply as the fear of open spaces, but the term has now been expanded to include a number of other fears, including the fear of public places and crowds, the fear of travelling alone, or simply the fear of leaving the home or other ’safe’ area.

When the individual is in the grips of agoraphobia and panic, the feeling can be one of absolute terror. Because these attacks can be unpredictable, occurring anywhere and at any time, the person experiencing them is very often terrified of them happening in a public place, where they feel the most vulnerable.

This can really compound and intensify feelings of anxiety and panic, producing a very real fear of public places, fear of crowds, fear of travelling alone and fear of leaving home.

Indeed, such intense fear can virtually force the person needing agoraphobia help to avoid leaving the home and putting him or herself into a situation that they feel might leave them vulnerable.

Agoraphobia disorder does appear to be more common in women than in men, although this may simply be because women tend to seek outside help with the condition more than do men. This is a disorder that can often manifest in a person’s twenties and can persist for years, if left untreated.

The good news is that skilfully applied transformational hypnotherapy can indeed be used as an effective agoraphobia treatment leading to an agoraphobia cure.

We know that agoraphobia and panic are intense feelings generated at the level of the subconscious mind – the home and repository of all feelings. The scary feelings are experienced because of an over-reaction by the subconscious mind which produces feelings inappropriate to the situation and circumstance. It imagines danger and so produces fear where no real reason for that fear exists.

The truth is, of course, that the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between that which is imagined and that which is real. You only have to think about ******* on a lemon to prove this to yourself. An imaginary lemon can produce exactly the same effect as a real lemon – tightening of jaw muscles, increased salivation – because for the subconscious mind there really is no difference between the imagined and the real.

With agoraphobia and panic, the subconscious mind has got things wrong. It imagines that a harmless and essentially non-threatening situation is inherently threatening and dangerous and so it responds as though the individual were in real danger by flooding the body with adrenalin – in much the same way that an imagined lemon floods the mouth with saliva – and this in turn produces feelings of anxiety and panic.

Through the medium of transformational hypnotherapy, we can adjust false beliefs and perceptions held by the subconscious mind and correctly align them with reality. Once we have understood the origin of the subconscious mind’s faulty perception, we are in a position to correct and neutralise it, thereby freeing the person to move on with their life, free of this really restricting, confining condition.

There really is no need to continue to experience agoraphobia and panic. If agoraphobia disorder is a part of your life, real help is available: Transformational hypnotherapy can indeed provide effective agoraphobia treatment leading to an effective agoraphobia cure.

By: Peter James Field

About the Author:

Are your children sleeping soundly at night? Many children are known to suffer from sleeping disorders. They may have trouble getting to sleep. Quite a number of children have bed-wetting problems. Are you monitoring your children’s sleep? Do they have any of the above sleeping problems?

The above mentioned disorders may seem trivial to many. However, if left untreated, the child may end up with low self esteem and lack confidence as they grow up. Certainly as parents, we want the best for our children, right? If the best is what we want, then we should treat these problems as early as possible. The best treatment for the said disorders is Child Hypnotherapy.

Studies have shown that a large percentage of children are suffering from some sleep disorders like insomnia. In 1997, a survey was conducted on children between the ages of 5 and 12. The results showed the following trend:
7 percent regularly wakes up in the middle of the night. 11 percent have difficulties to sleep well at night. 17 percent have problems waking up the next day. 17 percent feel very exhausted every day.Sleeping disorders like insomnia are normally caused by anxiety, fear or bad dreams. If these happen regularly, the child will eventually develop insomnia for they subconsciously become rather fearful of falling asleep. There are a number of possible factors which could have caused the anxiety and bad dreams:
environmental and surroundings which are not condusive to a child’s upbringing. alcohol or caffeine consumption lack of parental supervisionHypnotherapy is best in solving children’s disorders such as this. In a hypnotherapy session, the child will learn how to be relaxed and calm when they get to bed. Being calm and relaxed help them to sleep better at night. As their sleep gets better, they will be less stressed out in the day. No more waking up late and no more exhaustion. Both are direct results from the lack of sleep at night.

Did you know that about 2 to 10 percent of teenagers are still occasionally wetting their beds at night? One out of three six year old children wet their bed. Many parents don’t even consider bed-wetting as a problem. The fact is, this disorder, if left untreated, will lead to other more severe psychological disorders as the child grow older. Bed-wetting is also best treated with Hypnosis for Children.

By: Al Roslan

About the Author:
