How to Use the Law of Attraction to Lose Weight
But did you know that you can use the principles behind the Law of Attraction to lose weight? Anybody can use their minds to attract good things into their lives; you have the power to create anything you want. It’s all about giving your mind a picture of what you want; through a process called visualization. In order to get what you want, you need to be specific about what that is. So begin by asking yourself a few basic questions:
* What exactly is your goal weight?
* How will you feel when you reach your ideal weight?
* What will you be wearing and how will it feel on your fit, healthy, slim body?
Visualization is using your imagination to ‘daydream’ about the things you want. Remember when you used to get told off in class for daydreaming? Well it turns out your teachers were wrong; daydreaming is actually very good for you, provided you use it wisely. When I use the term ‘visualize’ I’m not just talking about using your eyes; I’m talking about using all five senses – seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting and/or smelling.
Some people feel what they are attracting or get a sense of it instead of seeing; or they may imagine that they can hear others congratulating them on their success once they have achieved the goal. All of these are examples of visualization. But visualizing yourself at your ideal weight is only one part of the equation. Not sure where or how to start? Here are some of my favourite tips for using the Law of Attraction to lose weight;
ONE: Combine your Visualization with your Workout
You can do this just before you begin your workout, or even while you are in the middle of it. Sometimes exercise can be a bit uninspiring (oops – did I say that??), so this is a really productive way to pass the time. By daydreaming about your ideal body you are leveraging your results. As you work out, get a picture or a feeling of your body as it responds to exercises. Notice how it feels as your body becomes fitter, stronger and leaner right before your eyes.
TWO: Create a Vision Board
A vision board is basically a group of pictures that represents the things you want to attract into your life. You can cut out pictures from magazines or download images from the internet and print them. These images should show the kind of body you want to have. Or you could include pictures of the things you will do once you have reached your goal weight, or even the type of foods that will become part of your new, healthier lifestyle. Look at these pictures and images every day. Allow them to inspire you. As you give your subconscious mind a picture, it sets out to create this as your reality.
THREE: Use Affirmations
Affirmations are a great way to get what you want. If you’re not familiar with affirmations and how they work, feel free to download my free e-books for more information. You can practise your affirmations throughout the day or during specific times, such as first thing in the morning or before you go to sleep. Affirmations serve to change the neurological pathways, steering you away from what you do not want and towards what you do want.
FOUR: Take Action
The most crucial step in using the Law of Attraction is that you do actually have to do something to bring about the changes you want. You can affirm your ideal weight until you’re blue in the face but you will not actually achieve anything unless you take action. When used properly, The Law of Attraction can feel like magic – but is not a magic quick fix – it is a means for you to get what you want by focusing on what you want and then tuning into ‘clues’ from the Universe about how to go about getting it.
So for example, let’s say you have already created your vision board; you know what you want and have focused on the minutest details. Then one day out of the blue during your power walk, you might notice an organic fruit and vegetable shop that sells its produce cheaply; funny how it has been there all along but you have only just noticed it now! All of these things happen for a reason. They are not coincidences or accidents. They are the Law of Attraction at work.
The Law of Attraction works – whether you believe in it or not. The trick is to have patience; ask for what you want and then let go of wanting it. Let the Universe do what it does best and allow it to bring you what you have asked for at the perfect time, in the perfect way and for the highest good of all concerned.

I participate in a number of hypnosis related email groups on Yahoo, and I hear that many hypnosis professionals are noticing a slowdown in the number of hypnosis sessions they are conducting and also in the number of attendees in their classes. That is no surprise considering most businesses are experiencing the same kind of leveling off or down trend. Here is how you can do much better in these slower times and even make this your best year ever.
Retail Books, CDs, and DVDs from Your Office and Website
Introduce hypnosis related support materials such as books, CDs and DVDs that are of interest to your clients. Your clients are already interested in hypnosis, and may be surfing the Web looking for good books, and other materials. Make it easy to get them from you. You can either stock some really great books, and other materials, and have them on hand in your office (or on your website).
When you offer hypnosis books, etc. from your site you can set it up by finding a good affiliate program (sites that will pay you a commission for linking to products and courses). This way the materials are sent out from the source rather than you having to handle the stocking, shipping and other hassles. We have an affiliate program for hypnosis professionals, and we participate in an affiliate program offered by another site.
Offer Consumables Related to Your Hypnosis Services Such As Weight Loss
Another great way, which we are learning about at our center is to introduce consumables (things that people buy, use up or consume, and then buy more of). I believe that this approach, when done right, will revolutionize our profession. You see, one of the great challenges that even the best hypnotists face, is that once they complete the work with one client, then they have to go out and get another. At our center, we have learned that we need to constantly market our services and classes. We average about 5-6 sessions per client, and that means that every month and half, we have to generate a whole new clientele. When we do well at this we have more clients than we can handle, and when we don’t (i.e., an ad doesn’t get placed or there are website problems) things can get a bit slow.
This is unavoidable, but what if there was a way to introduce consumables to your clients, when it is appropriate to do so? This way even after your clients are finished with your hypnosis program you will have a steady source of income. Right now, if you don’t work, you don’t get paid. Start retailing through your site and learn how to provide consumable products to your clients and you can enjoy a nice income while you are on vacation or simply away from the office for awhile.
I see the integration of consumables and services all the time. Take for example, how they do this in hospitals. For example, many, if not most hospitals, and other medical facilities have pharmacies and medical equipment rentals available. Providing these medical products and services (consumables) is a convenience for patients, it is also very good for the medical facility because it provides an ongoing income stream to the practice/business. Medications and different medical devices are prescribed by the doctors, and then the patients can purchase them right there in the hospital or medical center. This stream of income is often shared by the partners of the medical facility such as a clinic.

Using Hypnosis to Stop Smoking
What is Hypnosis?
Because the word hypnosis is derived from the Greek word hypnos, which means sleep, many people erroneously assume that being hypnotized is like being in a state of unconsciousness. However, in all reality, the exact opposite is actually true as while the body is deeply relaxed, the mind is as well, but it’s also in a heightened state of awareness, allowing one to be completely in control at all times, even while in a deep state of hypnosis. And, despite the often humorous portrayal in movies and television of people in hypnotized states acting like mindless automatons, a person will never do anything against their will while hypnotized.
How Does Hypnosis Help to Stop Smoking?
Since smoking and nicotine addiction are inherently complex and involve far more than just a physical addiction to cigarettes, hypnosis is said to be rather beneficial, as unlike the variety of stop smoking products on the market today, it addresses the mental and emotional end of smoking. And, as every smoker is already well aware of, smoking cigarettes has the ability to weave itself into literally every aspect of your life, almost becoming a part of who you are. Advocates of hypnosis say that no pill or patch is able to get to the root of the addiction the way hypnotherapy does by offering positive suggestions and creating new, healthier conditioned responses to replace the usual desire to smoke.
This isn’t to say that hypnosis can’t or shouldn’t be used in conjunction with other options for quitting smoking. In fact, one study recently found that people who added hypnosis to their plan to kick the habit were far more likely to succeed than those who simply tried on their own or used some type of nicotine replacement therapy.
Some people definitely seem to be more receptive to hypnosis than others, and therefore, one smoker may only need one or two sessions before becoming smoke-free, while another will need several before actually stopping for good. A hypnotherapist will be able to explain the entire process, which usually entails a quiet, dimly lit room and a soothing, calm voice making positive suggestions designed to reverse one’s desire to smoke. The hypnotherapist, whether in person or via a DVD or some other medium, should also give you the tools necessary to utilize self-hypnosis so that you are able to use hypnosis for this or any other reason, such as increasing self-esteem, losing weight, or overcoming other addictions.
