PostHeaderIcon Anxiety Panic Attacks – Hypnotherapy

There are some things to understand here. Anxiety panic attack is not a disease. It does not need the conventional drug therapy treatment. Many people feel that pills are the answer to everything. They are not! Nature has endowed us with so many natural cure that we simply cannot count. Moreover the advantages of these natural treatments are manifold. They are safe, side effect free, effective, available and very gentle.

I know many people will scoff at the idea and say that the drugs are the only cure. Well let me tell you what these so called drugs do. First, they solve the part of the problem that you can see at the surface, they do not get to the root cause of the problem. Secondly, they increase a person’s dependence and the moment you stop taking the drugs, your attacks worsen. Last but not the least, these medicines need to be increased in dosage as you develop tolerance to it (which only causes further complications).

Hence my advice to you is do not go in for such drugs. There are a great number of natural ways to get rid of these anxiety panic attacks and most of them have worked for me.

Try some deep breathing exercises. My doctor told me to breathe deeply during the anxiety panic attacks. This method helps in relieving hyperventilation and tightness in the chest. Since breath is called life, it will also put a lot of things into perspective while you breathe. While you are working on your breathing this is a good time to give meditation a try. For me meditation was more prevention than cure. There are a variety of techniques to try, but what worked for me was the recitation technique. Meditation and its techniques have been quite effective in providing me relief while the attacks happened.

There are a number of herbs that can help solve your problem. However, there is a method that can completely cure these panic attacks. For me, that is the only method that has all the qualities to be called the “perfect cure”. That method is nothing but hypnosis. I used to scoff at hypnotherapy, but now I have realized that hypnotherapy is the most effective way to deal with these attacks.

My hypnotherapist told me that all our reactions are based on our subconscious mind. Hence hypnotherapy has the power to change your core and emotional beliefs.

PostHeaderIcon Help For Panic Attacks and Anxiety – Therapies, Treatments and Remedies

Origin of Panic Attacks and Anxiety

Today most of the immediate dangers our stone age ancestors experienced do not exist anymore. You can imagine that as soon as you came out of your cave your heart-rate would probably be increased in anticipation of danger, such as a wild animal or rival tribesman lurking nearby.

As a stone age human you probably survived through being able to react quickly to any sign of a threat to your existence. Your physical reaction in getting you ready to run or fight would have been an immediate release of adrenalin. Your heart beat would have increased, your breath would become shorter, muscles tenser and you would increase your view from a narrower focus to a wide expanse. You may also have started to sweat and the blood would have been pumped away from your digestive system.

Unconscious Panic and Anxiety Reactions

All of these reactions were useful back then. Unfortunately some people still have the same sort of reaction to perceived danger rather than actual danger. Logically they know they do not need to get ready to run or fight but they have an uncontrollable and unconscious response to something that they are presented with.

Panic Attacks in Lifts, Planes, Trains and Public Speaking

That “something” might be riding on a train, a plane or in a lift. It might be the thought of having to do some public speaking such as talking in a meeting at work or giving that best man’s speech. It might be a reaction to seeing a spider or any of the 1,000 or more types of phobias.

In effect they have the same reaction as stone age man but do not face the same danger. This seemingly illogical reaction is often classified as an anxiety attack or panic attack. When someone experiences such a reaction it unpleasant and can undermine that person’s confidence.

Fear of the Fear

After this they may develop a dread or fear of it happening again. In effect they get to a stage where they fear the fear. This can lead to a withdrawal from doing certain things or going certain places just in case they experience their fear. The most popular tactic used by someone who suffers with panic attacks or anxiety is the tactic of avoidance.

Unfortunately avoidance provides temporary relief only and also starts to limit that person’s life. Without help, some people find that they then develop panic and anxiety associated with other events and environments. In effect the range of the stimuli that triggers the panic increases.

Resolve Panic, Anxiety and Fears Sooner

The sooner you deal with an anxiety or panic reaction the better it will be for you and the less likely it is that it will increase. You can recover your confidence and expand rather than contract what you do with your life.

Hypnosis, EFT and Panic and Anxiety Attacks

Amongst the therapies that are used most often for panic and anxiety attacks are hypnotherapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). Both of these therapies are considered to be brief therapies and help the sufferer reduce their dread and fears and recover their confidence.

PostHeaderIcon Is a Webcam Hypnotherapy Session a Good Idea?

I would always recommend a face to face session with a hypnotherapist if that is possible because there is no technology to contend with and you don’t have the possibility of distractions such as someone ringing the doorbell or a family member arriving home unexpectedly.  But, there are various reasons why a webcam hypnotherapy session is the best option for you.

1. You can’t find a local hypnotherapist who speaks your native language.

If you think in the language of the country you are in then a hypnotherapy session in that language should be successful.  If you mentally translate a lot into your native language then I personally would be less certain of a successful outcome. (This is just my opinion from my own experience.)  An alternative to a webcam session would be to use a technique such as Chinosis which uses symbols so is less reliant on language.

2. You have difficulty with transport.

If you live in a rural area, don’t drive or travel to your nearest hypnotherapist takes a lot of time then a webcam session brings a hypnotherapist to you.  This will give you even more benefit because you won’t be stressed by the travelling.   If you have restricted mobility it is ideal because you also don’t have to worry about access at their premises.

3. You are short on time.

You may have responsibilities that restrict your availability so that you have an hour available for the session but don’t have another hour to travel.

4. You are anxious about going out.

A webcam hypnotherapy session is perfect for treating issues such as agoraphobia, travel anxiety and any other issues that make you feel uncomfortable about leaving your home.

5. You are uncomfortable meeting new people – especially a therapist.

If you are nervous about meeting new people you can address this during a webcam session and possibly follow it up with a face to face session when your anxiety has reduced.

6. You don’t want anyone to know you have seen a hypnotherapist.

You may be worried that someone will see you when you are visiting a hypnotherapist or that you don’t want to have to make an excuse for where you are going.  Being able to have a hypnotherapy session in your own home keeps your session very private.  If you share a computer make sure that you remove any Skype entries or other means of communication afterwards.

7. Your preferred hypnotherapist is not local to you.

Whilst there are a lot of hypnotherapists, you may have a reason for wanting to work with a specific person.  S/he may have been personally recommended to you, you may have worked with them before and then moved elsewhere or s/he may specialise in a particular field.

From a personal point of view, I have hypnotised people all over the world and even a mile or so away from my office and had successful results so webcam hypnotherapy is definitely an option to be considered.  When I do a webcam session there are a few differences to a standard session but this is purely in the techniques I use and doesn’t affect the quality of the outcome.
